‘The Bridge: Season 2’: We Talked to Demian Bichir, Diane Kruger and Emily Rios Millions of fans are counting the days until July 9, when the second season of the award winner show The Bridge returns on FX. I had the privilege of watching the season premiere and the episode is a great transition between the intense events in season one and very exciting and mysterious new developments. This is what the protagonists told me after the sneak peek. Demian Bichir Can you concentrate a 100% in your character without thinking about being one of the prominent representatives of the Hispanic community in the media? Of course, I don’t think about those things. I am not an example of anything. I don’t shy away from my responsibility as an artist and as someone that has a voice that can be heard. But that has nothing to do with my craft. My job demands my complete concentration and dedication. When I jump into a project I am not thinking about awards, fame or social repercussion. I take my work very seriously and that belongs to one part of what I am. The rest is another thing. Diane Kruger What is the difference between a scene you shoot with Demian today compared to when you started? It is the same, just know each other better. You become really close, like family. He gives me a lot of shit, I give him a lot of shit. Did you discover something about the Hispanic world through him? Well, time… It’s relative. Time is relative, that I have discovered. But he is very easy going which is good. How much has your character changed? In the second season you see that she has evolved quite a bit. It is a dark season for her, but there is a lot of personal growth. Has been Television everything that you hoped for? Definitely. It has been a very interesting experience. Photo credit: Brady Cook Emily Rios Did you imagined the amount success when you started the series? I knew that we were going to get a broad audience. The international cast that we have is pretty unique in television. But I was a little worried about the topics that we explore because we are also in a mind-less era of shows with reality TV, etc. These are real things that some people don’t want to know about and prefer to live inside their happy little bubbles. I am proud to be telling these stories because we should be talking about these topics. What have you learned from working with these other great actors? Their level of intensity. I was more of an introvert before and these people are so open-minded and throw ideas. I have spent 2 years with this character so now I know that I can speak up and share my input.
