Latino Family ‘The Cooking Cubans’ Talk THE F WORD, Gordon Ramsay and More The new live cooking-variety show The F Word will feature a Cuban family on its second episode, tonight June 7th on FOX at 9pm/8c. I had a fun chat with Alis and Joseph Troya, the heads of “The Cooking Cubans” team, just a few ours ago. Did you get a chance to visit the set and meet Gordon Ramsay? Alis: We visited the set and explored the kitchen. It looks like a restaurant, it’s incredible. But we are going to meet Chef Ramsay tomorrow. We are very excited. Have you seen his other shows? Are you a little bit scared? Joseph: We watched Hell’s Kitchen. I thought “Oh, my God! What will I say if he treats me like that?” But then we saw the UK version of The F Word, and he was never rude. And, of course, we watched last week’s premiere, and he even brought his kids. It’s a family friendly show he behaved extraordinary well. Alis: He is there to teach us, because we aren’t professional cooks. What kind of advice have you received from other family members and friends? Joseph: People said that we should cook traditional Cuban dishes, like Ropa Vieja, etc. But the show is different: Chef Ramsay gives you a recipe the night of the show, teaches you how to prepare the dish, and you have to follow the instructions. That’s very difficult. Alis: Also, people told us “Have fun, and some beer before cooking!” Catch The F Word on FOX tonight Wednesday at 9pm/8c.
