Annalise Basso Talks OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL at Halloween Horror Nights Opening The small horror film OCULUS was the kind of movie that shows the talent and great potential of its creator. Writer-director Mike Flanagan -who also helmed the worthy HUSH- walks into franchise territory with the upcoming OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL (in theaters Oct.21). Annalise Basso, one of the amazing kids from OCULUS, stars in the prequel as Paulina Zander, a teenager in the sixties that has to deal with supernatural forces. On the red carpet of this year’s Halloween Horror Night at Universal Studios Hollywood (now open) I had the pleasure of talking to the young performer. OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL will be released in theaters on October 21. In 1967 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their seance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by a merciless spirit, the family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
