Chucky Goes Back to Basics in ‘Curse of Chucky’, Now on Blu-ray/DVD For someone who grew up loving the first ‘Child Play’ movies, watching Curse of Chucky (in stores now) was a pleasant experience. With ‘Bride’ and ‘Seed’ things got out of control and our little friend stopped been a menacing presence to become a walking joke. Now, writer-director Don Mancini has removed all the circus surrounding his creation to craft a more subtle and stylish house of horrors. The film is entertaining while takes its time to set up a final act that -despite of a couple of laughable moments and too many endings- is more than satisfying for a straight-to-DVD horror flick.
