Kirk Acevedo is a strong character actor that has left his mark in cult TV shows like “Fringe,” “Oz,” and many more. Now the world can enjoy his talent in the best blockbuster of 2014, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (in theaters, 3D and IMAX now).

I had the privilege of speaking with him over the phone recently, about the themes of this sequel, his character ‘Carver’, Andy Serkis’ motion-capture, some Spielberg and “2001: A Space Odyssey” comparisons, why he would love to re-team with J.J. Abrams in “Star Wars,” and more.
