Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario Talk SAN ANDREAS A few days ago the cast and filmmakers responsible for the new blockbuster SAN ANDREAS got together in Downtown Los Angeles to talk about the Warner Brothers film. Read below a few remarks from its three main protagonists, Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, and Alexandra Daddario. Dwayne Johnson (Ray) “I read the script all the way through and I loved it. It all came together very quickly in terms of the amazing actors that wanted to come in, play in the sandbox, and redefine a genre that has been around for a long time. We wanted to create something special because the last earthquake movie was in ‘71 or ‘72. When you are constructing a heroic character that can be the anchor of a “real life” big movie like this the level of detail in the conversations is extraordinary. You have a responsibility when you play first-responders. It has been a life-changing experience for me, doing this role. But there is also an expectation from fans globally so we also want to raise the bar.” Alexandra Daddario (Blake) “I do consider myself to be a smart, tough girl. When I was younger I didn’t feel that strong, but as I got older I found that strength. It is amazing when you realize how much you can accomplish. It is great to portray characters like these, specially for young girls that see that women are strong and can accomplish all kinds of things.” Carla Gugino (Emma) “When I read the script I realized that the women were taken care of as well as the man. Sadly, that doesn’t happen very often. Women are strong, complex and smart. This is a very honest representation of what women can do in a situation like this. I love about my character that she is like any other women, that she needs to think fast and isn’t a superhero.” SAN ANDREAS is now playing in theaters nationwide. In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue his estranged daughter.
