Exclusive: Edward James Olmos Talks Blade Runner Sequel and New Star Wars I had the honor of speaking with Edward James Olmos today about his new movie 2 Guns (in theaters Aug. 2). I also asked him about the announced Blade Runner sequel and the upcoming Star Wars. His “Gaff” was an unforgettable character in Ridley Scott’s masterpiece, and with strong geek credentials he could bring both gravitas and diversity to a galaxy far, far away. As you can read below, he is excited about the idea of being part of one of these projects and cautious about the other. Desde Hollywood: Have Ridley Scott talked to you about his Blade Runner sequel? Edward James Olmos: No, I wish he would of. DH: Are you interested in revisiting that world? Olmos: Yeah, sure I am. I would love to be a part of it, but I don’t think I will be. DH: After years with Battlestar Galactica, would you be interested in going back to space in a new Star Wars? Olmos: It would have to be really, really well written for me to jump on board.
