The very first FANTASTIC FOUR trailer is, well, fantastic! After doing a couple of silly film adaptations -and a very campy one courtesy of Roger Corman- 20th Century Fox seems to have learned from past missteps.

The dark and grounded tone of this first trailer marks a strong contrast, promising a cool sci-fi thriller more than a colorful superhero movie.

Just by watching the video you may not notice that their most popular comic book villain is present in this iteration. But following an IP address showed in a glimpse you arrive to the Wikipedia page of Latveria, a fictional European nation associated with the evil Doctor Doom.

Find below the FANTASTIC FOUR trailer, a video commentary (via Yahoo!) with director Josh Trank (Chronicle) and screenwriter-producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and the teaser poster.

FANTASTIC FOUR, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell will open in theaters on August 7.
