I am not the target audience for the film adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” (in theaters Valentine’s Day 2015), and not just because I am a 30-something male. I saw “Basic Instincts” when I was like 12-years-old so I need more thrilling elements in a romantic/erotic drama to get me excited.

But I recognize that the first trailer does a pretty good job presenting the characters, setting up the tone (with a more intimate version of Beyoncé’s “Crazy Love”) and suggesting the mature content that fans love in the popular novels.

Dakota Johnson seems as a fitting option to portray the shy Anastasia Steele. She doesn’t look like a super model, making her both believable and relatable. In the other hand, Jamie Dornan (who did a very good job in the show “The Fall”) looks too generic to convey a powerful first impression as an irresistible Christian Grey.

But again, he is not supposed to seduce me. Share your thoughts after watching the -very safe for work- first trailer below.
