Months ago I was part of a round table interview with Dwayne Johnson and one of my colleagues asked him about the other Hercules movie being developed at the time (the one with Kellan Lutz). His answer? “I was born to play Hercules!”

Nobody can argue against that after seeing The Rock in the first trailer and official images of “Hercules” (in theaters July 25th). Seeing him facing mythological creatures (in what it was known as “The Thracian Wars”) is what I have always imagined a cool modern take would look like.

Brett Ratner also directs Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and the always amazing John Hurt.
