Keanu Reeves has done many genres. But action movies undoubtedly propelled his status on the pop culture landscape with titles like Point Break, Speed and of course, The Matrix.

In 2013 Reeves has not one but two martial arts films, Man of Tai Chi (directed by him and premiering in the U.S. at Fantastic Fest), and 47 Ronin (in theaters December 25).

The fantasy adventure features many asians talents like Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibasaki, Tadanobu Asano and Rinko Kikuchi (Pacific Rim).

The posters look cool and the movie looks like a fun time but I am not impressed with this trailer. Its titles look more science fiction than fantasy, the modern music feels out of place and a couple of FX shots seem to need more post-production time.

After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people.  Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.
As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.
