Learn More about the World of ’47 Ronin’ with this Samurai Expert (Excl. Video) A lot of Japanese history and mythology was used to shape the story of the new fantasy adventure “47 Ronin” (in theaters this Christmas, Dec. 25). Desde Hollywood was invited to a special press day at the Martial Arts History Museum in North Hollywood to learn more about that ancient culture. In this video, Samurai expert Rafale Kosche (who also owns Valley Martial Arts Supply) shares his knowledge regarding two key elements in the life of the legendary warriors: the sword and the food. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.
