Desde Hollywood: You have worked with great directors in the past. What version of Fast and Furious would you like to see? James Cameron’s, Paul W. S. Anderson’s, or Robert Rodriguez’s?

Michelle Rodriguez: Christopher Nolan! I love how he reinvents stuff. He did a great job with Batman. He takes pride in his work. If I ever had the privilege of working with somebody that can take something and transform it into something that nobody’s ever seen before it’s him.

DH: What can someone like Jason Statham bring to the franchise?

Rodriguez: If you look at somebody like Jason you can see he’s got that cockney street swagger. If you were to say “Who’s been in London?” you would say him. And if you look even at Dwayne Johnson, “Who holds that position in the square population of the world?”, because he’s a really clean cut guy, “Who’s the clean version of Vin Diesel?” you’d be like “All right”.

There is a demographic, a similarity. There’s something that ties these types of fellows together, a Jason Statham, a Dwayne Johnson and a Vin Diesel. They’ve got this masculine macho thing going on, but on top of that they carry an integrity within themselves that you can relate you. If you saw these guys in a room together you would say that they would get along because they hold it down in their own lanes, you know what I mean?

I like Jason Statham a lot. When you look at his eyes you can see that he’s been through a lot of shit in his life. You can see the same in Vin’s eyes and you can see a lot of that in Dwayne’s eyes. And I think that that’s kind of like a really great decision on Universal’s part and on the production’s part to bring a guy like him into the franchise. I think he’s going to do a really great job.

DH: So, in a bar fight…?

Rodriguez: Oh, man! You know what? I’d want to see them all together beating the living crap out of everybody else. I want to see them smacking each other’s hands after whooping some ass! You know what I mean? They are too cool together to separate them, you know, to make them enemies just would be a shame.

“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez).”
