‘Monsters University’ surprised Soccer Fans at a Chivas USA Game Are you a soccer fan? A Disney/Pixar fan too? You are not alone! Take a look at the information we have received regarding a fun promotional event for Monsters University (in theaters June 21st) that combined both world. “This past weekend, at a Chivas USA vs. Seattle soccer game in Los Angeles, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY had a wonderful “half-time” take over as kick-off to release month. The event started with a special standee where people could take their own Student ID photo and Tweet it out for a chance to get tickets to an advance screening. Once the game kicked off, several trailers were played on the jumbo screen and lucky row winners received items from the film. During halftime, the jumbotron featured a customized MU Scream-O-Meter that encouraged the whole audience to scream in order to get some MU t-shirts. The Chivas USA Mascot, dressed up in MU gear, proceeded to do the t-shirt toss while excited fans jumped to get one.” “Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.” Monsters University, directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars) opens in 2D and 3D on June 21.
