Quentin Tarantino Cancels ‘The Hateful Eight’, Blames Actors for Script Leak In a reported conversation with a journalist at Deadline, Quentin Tarantino described himself as “very depressed” but he actually sounds furious. After having his “Django Unchained” script leaked months before the film been released in theaters, the first draft of his planned upcoming Western “The Hateful Eight” started to circulate in Hollywood. Tarantino apparently has decided to shelve this project indefinitely and pointed his finger at a long time collaborator and an Academy Award nominated actor as possible culprits of this -in his words- “betrayal.” ” I gave it to three actors: Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth. The one I know didn’t do this is Tim Roth. One of the others let their agent read it, and that agent has now passed it on to everyone in Hollywood. I don’t know how these fucking agents work, but I’m not making this next. I’m going to publish it, and that’s it for now. I give it out to six people, and if I can’t trust them to that degree, then I have no desire to make it. I’ll publish it. I’m done. I’ll move on to the next thing. I’ve got 10 more where that came from.” “Django Unchained” was great, but knowing that Tarantino probably won’t make more than five new films I would prefer him exploring other genres. What do you think?
