No big event a la Marvel Studios and no sophisticated video announcement. One of the most anticipated pieces of movie news has been revealed in a tweet:

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” seems like an appropriate title for a saga -and a studio- that wants everybody thinking more about the future than the past.

The film, directed by J.J. Abrams, stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. The new Star Wars movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
