Yes, Batman and Jake Sully from “”Avatar” were in “Salvation.” But the geek credentials of the “Terminator: Genesis” cast has no match: Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) as John Connor, Jai Courtney (“I, Frankenstein”) as Kyle Reese, J.K. Simmons (Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy), Dayo Okeniyi (“The Hunger Games”), Byung Hun Lee (the G.I. Joe franchise) and the T-800 himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As if it that wasn’t enough, now Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have announced that “Doctor Who” star Matt Smith will join the reboot as “a new character with a strong connection to John Connor.” Director Alan Taylor himself is a fan-favorite with “GOT” and “Thor: The Dark World” under his belt. This is what he told us about mixing science fiction and fantasy at the last Disney D23 Expo.

Skynet will be back when “Terminator: Genesis” opens on July 1, 2015.
