‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Teaser Trailer: Release the Dragon!

People jumping and speaking in very dramatic tones aren’t the most interesting thing in the first teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (out December 13, 2013). The star of the show is the first look at Smaug himself, the dragon you see at the very end with Bilbo. His face is hidden in the shadows but at least we have a sense of how big this Weta creation will be. And it is HUGE!

Peter Jackson releases the dragon (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) in 3D on December the 13th, 2013.
